Mastectomy Bras
Bras for Breast Reconstruction
The biggest challenge to finding a bra will be projection. Most often your mastectomy incision is at the nipple area and this flattens the projection of the breast.
When you are ready to fit your new body shape with bras it is important to be measured and guided with a proper fit. Remember, bras are not universally sized so it is very important to try them on. Our bra fitters have over 40 years combined experience in fitting patient's unique bra needs. We have several styles that fit the new shape and size of your breasts.
Recovery Care Garments
Post mastectomy, post lumpectomy bras, and camisoles are designed to meet your immediate post-surgical breast care needs. These garments are soft, comfortable, and include pockets to hold light weight puff breast forms, as well as Velcro attachable surgical drain pouches. These garments help to make a smooth and comfortable transition after surgery.
Partial Breast Prosthesis Shapers
This partial shaper provides all over coverage and balance to remaining breast tissue following partial mastectomy or lumpectomy. It can also benefit the woman who has not had breast surgery, but is unbalanced due to genetic or uneven breast development.
Nipples can be used directly on the reconstructed breast or the breast prosthesis to provide an esthetically pleasing and natural appearance with added fullness to the apex of the breast or prosthesis.
Elliptical Partial Breast Shapers
This breast shaper provides lower breast fullness and coverage in the mastectomy bra cup, to achieve balance and a smooth transition to the upper cup. Excellent for post lumpectomy or post reconstruction surgeries.
Lymphedema Compression Garments
Lymphedema is a serious medical condition that can result after the surgical removal of lymph nodes. It oftentimes follows breast cancer surgery or radiation therapy. Symptoms include a feeling of heaviness, or aches and swelling of the arm, hand, breast, chest or back. If you’ve been diagnosed with lymphedema, your doctor has probably prescribed a lymphedema compression sleeve, glove, or compression bra or vest. Your lymphedema garment must be the right size, type and fit to reduce swelling and discomfort. Brownfield’s certified compression garment fitters can measure and fit compression arm sleeves, compression gauntlets, compression gloves or compression bras and lymphedema compression night garments.
